Passepartout 1872 began with a dream and imagination.
Toronto-born, and New York-based, our founder discovered the romance of travel during childhood, in the countless hours spent in hospital. Seduced by the romance of exploration, beguiled by literature, history, cartography and art, and beckoned by the Silk Road, the Odyssey, and the Orient Express, distant lands became a refuge and window into possibility.
Passepartout 1872 continues that dream by creating collectible silk scarves inspired by the world’s most
extraordinary places.

Passepartout 1872, inspired by Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days, honours the timeless spirit of adventure.
Jean Passepartout, the French valet to the English protagonist, Phileas Fogg, joins this spontaneous, high-stakes global wager to travel the earth. He embodies the spirit of curiosity, loyalty, optimism, and the joy of discovery - the very spirit that is woven into our silks and their stories.
